I am lucky.

I have had the privilege of working with a veteran, all-star teacher during my first year of teaching. She has given me the all-important “heads up” in so many potentially blind-siding situations that I have entirely lost count. I’ll never forget when she had the wisdom to make sure I, a brand-new teacher, knew each of my high school students personally. But it’s the way she did this that helped me learn a key concept in truly affecting my students.
